What counts by law
For B2B in Germany: the structured XML is the original. A PDF alone is not enough once the duty applies. The formats are XRechnung and ZUGFeRD from Comfort upwards under EN 16931. Public clients need the Leitweg-ID. Peppol is optional, and the way should stay open.
This is the legal framework, not tax advice. Your tax advisor checks turnover limits and deadlines.
What Sollmaß does with it
Quote, progress invoice, final invoice, credit note: the same document engine. XML and PDF come from one data record. The number runs on. A cancellation is a separate document, not a silent overwrite. The GoBD archive does not change silently.
The ZUGFeRD PDF is PDF/A-3b with an embedded factur-x.xml. We check both automatically with every change: the XML against the KoSIT validator, the PDF against veraPDF. Anything that fails there does not go out.
Customer, site, line items and tax are the same fields as on paper. If you write the document in Sollmaß, you should not have to pour it into a second e-invoice tool.
Tax advisor and DATEV
The document must stay machine-readable. For your tax advisor there are DATEV posting batches and a document package with XRechnung and PDF; direct transfer is the goal. We do not claim an RDS certification that we do not have.

Deadlines, without tax advice
Receiving already applies to the B2B recipient. The duty to send comes in stages in 2027 and 2028, depending on turnover limits. What Sollmaß delivers is the document the duty needs: XML as the original, PDF as a reading copy, a continuous number, an archive that cannot be changed.
Leitweg-ID for the public client. Sending via Peppol is prepared, not active yet. €59 introductory price, no extra module for 2027.
