Time tracking for the trades

Clock in, clock out and break – on the phone, right on the job. The hour is the basis for the invoice, the post-costing and the Working Hours Act, not for a second clock-in tool. Technicians record with the Site licence (€19), the office invoices with the Office licence (€59, introductory price until 31 December 2026).

What is recorded

The hour is a data record, not a feeling. Start, end and duration are fixed. Breaks are recorded separately, travel is visible, overtime can be evaluated. Absence and holiday are in the same staff view, not in a calendar on the side.

The hour belongs to the job that the office already knows. “About eight hours” is not enough if it is to become a line item on the invoice.

You clock in sections – work, travel, break, end of day. The monthly balance is shown next to it, public holidays come from the federal state of the business, and for § 17 MiLoG and the immediate notification in construction there is a note instead of legal advice.

Field, not time clock

Without a network the app writes to a queue and syncs as soon as there is signal. Basement, roof and dead zone do not change that. GPS is optional and only with a clear rule in the business – co-determination, not surveillance theatre. Web app (PWA) for iPhone and Android, can be added to the home screen. Native apps in progress.

Invoice and post-costing

What is on the site may be on the invoice – with the same line items, not with a copy written up in the evening. The post-costing compares time with the quote before the final invoice goes out. If the site differs, you see it in time.

The internal chat on the order is for coordination. It does not replace the time line. Files and hours stay in the folder.

Who sees what

The technician sees “My day” and their week and submits it at the end of the month; the office has the team week, approves or sends it back with a note. New assignments come from the Schedule and are on the device – without an app store push having to replace the assignment. Who is sick or on call is on the same board.

The Working Hours Act needs correct breaks and durations. That is why a break is its own entry, not a deduction by feeling.

What Sollmaß is not

Sollmaß is not a payroll program. Times should go out in a way that DATEV payroll can connect later – LODAS and DLS as the goal, not as a promise without a specification. No invented interfaces, no DATEV seal that we do not have.

Questions about time tracking

Does the time tracking app cost extra?

No. Time tracking is in both licences. Technicians need the Site licence at €19, the office needs the Office licence at €59. Pricing · Field & app

Does time tracking work offline?

Yes. Offline, the app writes to the queue and syncs as soon as there is a network.

Is GPS required?

No. GPS is optional and only with a clear rule in the business. The hour belongs to the job, not to tracking.

Is this a payroll program?

No. Sollmaß records times for the invoice, post-costing and the ArbZG. DATEV payroll is the way forward, not the current state without a spec.
